If there is one thing I learned about 2020, it is to appreciate the small things. I have completely fallen in love with tiny weddings! There is something about the intimate setting that makes them even more special! When Christa & Zach reached out to me a few weeks before their wedding date, I was all in. If you know me, you know how much I love to spend my days and evenings at the beaches on Lake Michigan.
We decided to meet about 30 minutes before their ceremony to get some portraits of them down by the beach and on the dunes! It was such a beautiful and windy winter day. We had the dunes to ourselves! They picked out a semi-private spot in the woods for their ceremony, when we got up there, their small group was waiting.
One thing that really made me smile (besides Christa’s Anomalie dress) was her dad strumming his guitar as he walked her down the aisle. The resilience of couples in 2020 is something that has amazed me throughout the year. This was not Christa & Zach’s original wedding plan. It wasn’t even their second plan. This was the 3rd. You know what they say, third time is the charm.
